Ebbinge’s Silverberry

This evergreen shrub has spineless branches, green foliage with silver scales on the surface.  Brown scales are on the stems and new growth.  Fragrant blooms are followed by red fall fruit.  Can be a semi-evergreen depending on climate. Good  for screen or hedge. 8-10’  mature height equal width.    Full sun.

Fruitland Silverberry

Densely branched evergreen shrub with silvery scales on rich green leaves with wavy edges.   Has  perfect   silvery   white, fragrant flowers similar to Gardenia. Fruit develops in April-May making it very attractive to birds.  Also has 3” long thorns. Good barrier plant for banks,  hedges,  and  screens. Wind tolerant. Sun to partial shade.
