Dense rounded evergreen shrub with new growth appearing red, turning to dark green.  White fragrant flowers cover the plant in spring.  Grows 4’ High, 4’ wide. Prefers moist, well drained soil but will tolerate drought conditions.  Sun to partial shade.

Common Lilac

This upright leggy shrub is usually devoid of lower branches,  forming a cloud-like head of foliage.  The leaves are dark almost bluish green. Extremely fragrant lilac flowers bloom in early to mid-May. Old flowers should be cut off as soon as flowers fade. Use as border or in groupings. Medium grower 8-15’ in height with a spread of 6-12’.   Full to partial sun.
